The Sheriff Of Nottingham

A surprise visit from the Sheriff of Nottingham

Our volunteers were delighted to show Councillor Glyn Jenkins, the Sheriff of Nottingham, around the museum yesterday (Sunday, 16 July 2017).

Councillor Jenkins particularly enjoyed the mining display and talking with our volunteers.

The modern Sheriff has a very different role to his historic predecessors. He is responsible for promoting Nottingham as a destination for visitors for short breaks, conferences, business and shopping and for encouraging local residents to use and take part in cultural/ leisure activities opportunities in the city and county.

We can only benefit from his visit and hope that he comes again soon. Don’t forget to make Nottingham Industrial Museum part of your short break or leisure activities in Nottingham.
