Step Back in Time at Our Exciting Steaming Days at Wollaton Park!
Join us on the last Sunday of each month for our thrilling Steaming Day, where history comes to life with a fantastic selection of working exhibits!
Feel the Power of Steam!
Watch our incredible collection of static and portable engines in action, including the awe-inspiring Basford Beam Engine. Don’t forget to keep an eye (and ear!) out for the portable engine welcoming visitors at the main entrance!
Engines, Tractors & More!
Up to eight engines will be running, including three diesel engines and an array of fascinating barn engines—vital tools that once powered farms with steam, petrol, and oil. Explore our display of vintage tractors, each with a story to tell.
Experience Victorian Life!
Step into our Victorian kitchen and discover the challenges of everyday life in the 19th century—see how families cooked, cleaned, and managed their homes long before modern conveniences. Sample Victorian recipes with a Taste of History.
Fun for the Whole Family!
There’s plenty to keep young explorers entertained! Play historic games in the Lace Gallery, or embark on museum trails to uncover hidden treasures.
A Museum Like No Other!
Beyond our Steaming Days, our museum is open every weekend and selected Bank Holidays. As Nottingham’s only industrial museum, we celebrate the incredible workers of the past—from coal and textiles to communications and engineering.
Your Visit Keeps History Alive!
Our dedicated volunteers work tirelessly to maintain these remarkable exhibits. As running these machines comes at a great cost, your support helps keep this rich history alive for generations to come.
Come along and experience the sights, sounds, and power of the past!
